Remembering Homemade Costumes Yesteryear

A boy and his imagination

A few years ago decided that my younger son for a long time before Halloween, the costume had understood everything. He did not share the secret, said only that all he needed was to make his best Halloween costume ever.

His joy in the planning and preparation for Halloween with things around the house reminded me of home (and sometimes last minute) got the costumes worn over the years.

MoralsHalloween Past

I remember one year, I think I was just a dress Casper the friendly ghost. I look around the school of my way white sheet, dressed as I always had the best costume!

Another year the mother, my hours spent to produce costumes for my sister and me. I went as a skeleton. My costume consisted of a huge black plastic bag, where my mother several "bone" was attached white paper. My mask was a white paper plate was cutapproximate the shape of a bald head.

costume my sister was much more elaborate. We trick-or-treat this year as the Shaggy Dog. The head and body were made by two large cardboard boxes. The part was disheveled, with hundreds of precisely cut strips from old newspapers, corrugated with scissors and glue the boxes.

These costumes may seem like much, but are among the few that I remember from my childhood. Another costume I remember was more outside the homeRush than anything else. It was last year I went trick-or-treat. I must have 13 or 14 I decided not to go, but changed at the last moment, my opinion. I ran into my father's body, grabbed her hand and a mask business, which used in painting, collection, and a pillowcase for a way out, I was off. I am not even sure what I was dressed like, but it was fun!

Back to Boy

Halloween is coming, and my son is six years his father in his room and said:what he needs for his costume: safety pins and made a mask of black construction paper. Shortly after, he announces that he is ready and "Batman," enters the room. His costume consists of a black robe (Upside-down black shirts security t-shirt bears blacks remember), has created a form (in construction paper), draw a symbol (a white sheet of paper and glued to His T-shirt) and a utility belt (including white paper). He has never been so satisfied with a HalloweenCostume as the day he made his comment!
